The ND Chapter of the SWCS is accepting nominations for the 2026 Chapter Awards through June 30th.
The North Dakota Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society (NDSWCS) chapter awards are a way to celebrate and recognize individuals and organizations/businesses whose efforts advance the stewardship of soil, water, and natural resources. These awards highlight outstanding contributions to the art and science of good land use and celebrate leadership, innovation, and service within the conservation community. There are four awards for which nominations will be accepted:
Service Award: This award is presented to an individual or organization involved in soil and water conservation work and whose work has made a valuable contribution to the art and science of good land use.
Professional Award: This award is presented to an individual directly involved directly in the field of soil, water, and natural resource work. Professional Award recipients have stimulated interest and progress in advancing the art and science of good land use through their professional work.
Business Stewardship Award: This award is presented to recognize the efforts of a business to promote soil and water conservation even though their bottom line may be profit motivated. This effort may be done by promotion of activities in the field such as field demonstrations or through their educational efforts such as distributing printed materials or helping to sponsor informative meetings.
Horizon Award: This award recognizes the extra efforts of a member in the North Dakota SWCS Chapter within the past year.
